The case is not isolated, of course - Many of the animals in the wild cannot differentiate food from garbage. You see a lot of seagulls piling up bottlecaps and plastics in their bodies, being weighed down by the foods they cannot digest and eventually dying off.

We must never forget that we are not the only inhabitants on this planet, and that our garbage, byproducts and waste circulates among, and impacts other animals in our surroundings as well.
